- Choose your syllabus topic and post on Slack by Tuesday, June 1st
Orientation: Wednesday, June 2nd
So you’re ready for the orientation on Wednesday, June 2nd from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Zoom link to come. The agenda for the orientation is as follows:
We will tailor the orientation to the questions you raised on Slack, and we’ll also look ahead to the work we have yet to do over the summer to prepare for the fall.
We will use our Slack workspace/channel to develop your courses and share updates about the fall as we get them.
As we all work on this, though, we’re mindful that these lessons that feel new to us may be especially new to you, particularly if you are new to teaching, too. We’ll help you get your classes set up on Blackboard or Google Classroom, and we’ll begin that project as soon as you get your QC email accounts.
As you prepare over the summer, our excellent instructors Rachael ([email protected]) and Alexis ([email protected]) will be on hand to work with you as mentors.
We’ll be in touch with more details about the QC Center for Teaching and Learning’s online teaching workshop, which will be held over the summer. You’ll be paid $500 for completing the workshop.
Also, bookmark this page from the Center for Teaching and Learning. It’s full of resources that you’ll need as a new faculty member in the fall.
